SELF-REGULATING HEATING CABLE
line

EXCEL brand Self-Regulating Heating Cable is designed with a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) function. As the ambient temperature rises, the heating value of the cable decreases, thus keeping heat evenly distributed throughout the length of the cable. This PTC characteristic keeps the overall temperature value of the cable to allow for a longer life span. The PTC heating cable minimizes heat generation in situations where heat is not needed, thus reducing power consumption. To maximize the life of the cable, outer insulation may be required pending on the location of installation areas.
The PTC characteristic of the constant-temperature electric wire is obtained by adding conductive plastic with carbon in appropriate amounts to make it semi-conductive. That is, each conductive carbon particle forms an infinite parallel circuit, It has the function of a sensor which adjusts the heating value of the cable appropriately.

INTERNAL STRUCTURE
1. Copper Bus Wire
Supplies the power throughout the heating cable.
2. Self-Regulating Semi-Conductive Core
Self-Regulating Semi-Conductive Core made with polymers and combined with Semiconductors to create PTC characteristics. A conductive carbon is used to create the PTC effect.
3. Inner Adhesitive Jacket
This process reduces heat loss through a high temperature annealing process. This also creates a cable more pliable to work with.
4. Modified Polyolfin Jacket
The modified jacket protects the cable from physical impact and helps alleviate heat shock to the cable.
5. (Tinned-Copper Braid
Protects the cable from external impact and improves the grounding force.
6. Modified Polyolefin Out Jacket
Protects the cable from external variables and improves the grounding force of the cable.
EXCEL SELF-REGULATING CABLE USES

-Prevents freezing of water, sewage, meters, and various other pipes exposed to the elements.
-Maintains set temperatures thus preventing installed areas from freezing due to inclement weather.
SELF-REGULATING HEATING CABLE ATTRIBUTES
Slide 1
01
Created by changing the inherent resistance of an insulator to form a functioning product utilizing the semi-conductive nature of polymers.
02
The internal resistance changes according to the temperature change within the cable. Self-regulating cables have the ability to adjust the heat output on its own.
03
Self-regulating cables consist of infinite amount of parallel circuits. With this design, the heat produced will always be constant.
Slide 2
04
Easy to install and use on site.
05
Overheating protection is secured even with overlap.
06
Self0controlled heating system saves on power and has a low maintenance cost.
Slide 2
07
Effective in reducing electromagnetic waves and emitting far-infrared rays.
